Of Particular Note

We will host a Light of the World Tour on Friday, March 25th, 9:00-10:30 a.m.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet our Headmaster, hear from our pastor, teachers, and current parents, and discover the OLMC difference.

Let us share with all children the opportunity to awaken their imaginations, inspire their minds, and inflame their hearts!

For parents of students that are walkers: If your student is classified as a Walker, please pick them up or have them started walking home by 2:45 p.m. at the latest. Students who are on campus and have not been picked up by 2:45 p.m. will be put in Aftercare.

Our next Coffee with the Headmaster is on Thursday, March 31st at 8:45 a.m. in Gordon Hall. (Gordon Hall is the OLMC Church parish hall located on Oak Street.) A town-hall type event, Mr. Minson will offer his observations and insights about OLMC’s approach to education and take questions from parents. It’s a great way to get to know the Headmaster and your school community, so please join us! We will serve light refreshments and children are welcome. No registration required. Please submit questions ahead of time to headmaster@olmcboonton.org.

Please join us for the next Parent-Faculty Reading Group on Wednesday, April 13th at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Jeff and Susanne Billeter when we will discuss Wendell Berry’s novel Jayber Crow. “The life story of Jayber Crow, Barber of the Port William Membership, as written by himself.” We enter the mind and heart of Jayber as he ruminates on Faith, Community, and his own experience of Home and personal meaning. Please join us for a stirring discussion about this great book. RSVP or request further details by emailing Susanne Billeter at jasminepetaltea@live.com.

Campus Cleanup date change: May 14th is the new date for Campus Cleanup. Please join us to spring clean and refresh the campus!

We could use your help to organize some of the most fun events of the year to come! From family events and parties to teacher appreciation to campus and stage beautification- there is something for everyone!

Yearbook Messages are due on Friday, March 25th!

Ordering yearbooks has never been easier!

New this year is the option to order online. Order Here ID code: 2809622

Or you may submit payment along with the 2022 Yearbook Order Form to the front office.

All orders must be placed by Friday, April 15th.

In keeping with tradition, we would like to invite parents to write and send messages of love and support to include in the yearbook. The deadline for message submissions is Friday, March 25th.

Read-a-Thon 2022

Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s annual Lenten Read-a-Thon began March 2nd! This is a great opportunity for the students to replace what they are giving up for Lent with enriching and entertaining literature! It is also a great opportunity to share the wonderful things that our students are doing with others who want to support the cause of Classical Catholic Education!
New this year: We are inviting parents to get in on the fun and compete for prizes in an OLMC Parents’ Read-a-thon! Just register yourself along with your children in the Pledgestar website and you can be part of the competition too!

Club Corner

Middle-School Boys Baseball is beginning March 21st. Practices will be held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after school. Please email Mr. Agnew to sign up at lagnew@olmcboonton.org. The cost is $30 per player and is due to the front desk by the first day of practice.

The OLMC 2022 Track and Field Season begins March 28th. Track and Field is open to students in Grades 3-8. Practices will take place every Monday and Wednesday from 2:45 - 4:15 p.m. There will be some Saturday practices as well. Cost is $65 per participant. Permission slips and check are due in to the school by March 25th. To sign up, please email: running@olmcboonton.org

3rd Grade Sea Life Observation

The third grade recently took a close look at ocean invertebrates to observe how their bodies work and classify them as having exoskeletons or cartilage.

The third grade had the opportunity to see, touch, and smell these fascinating creatures of the deep.

The students were amazed at the strength of the clam and wondered at how a squid eats. Thank you, Miss Zachok and Mrs. Tyrrell, for this wonderful lesson!
