Please invite your friends and family to Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Virtual Open House on Friday, February 5th, at 9:00am. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet our Headmaster, hear from our pastor, teachers, and current parents, and discover the OLMC difference. Let us share with all children the opportunity to awaken the imagination, inspire the mind, and inflame the heart! Please remember to bring your cold weather outerwear each day to school, including winter coats, hats, gloves or mittens, and leggings, tights, or sweatpants for girls. We remain committed to bringing the students outdoors for fresh air and exercise and proper attire is essential.

Catholic School’s Week

February 1st-5th

Monday, Martyr Monday

“The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.” -Tertullian

In celebration of our faith, students are invited to dress up as their favorite martyr saint. Costumes may not interfere with normal classroom activities (i.e. sitting in desks, carrying books, etc.)

Tuesday, Chanticleer loud and clear!

Students will honor our mascot by creating posters, anthems, poems or all of these creative endeavors throughout the day. The winning class work will be showcased at the Friday Field Day. OLMC Spirit wear including the Chanticleer may be worn at school.

Wednesday, House Pride Day and Catechism Bee

Wednesday afternoon, we will host a house competition to determine which house has the most Catechism knowledge.

Students will receive house pins to wear with their uniforms. Wear an accent with your uniform that reflects your house color (Matthew - White; Mark - Gold; Luke- Red; John - Blue)! You are also welcome to wear your house mask.

Thursday, Bears and Books Day

Grades Pre-K through 3rd Grade may bring their favorite stuffed animal tp present and a stuffed animal to donate to Catholic Charities.

Grades 4th through 8th may bring their favorite book to present in class and a book to donate to Catholic Charities.

Friday, King Arthur Field Day

To many-towered Camelot!

Students will test their wits in puzzles, riddles, and games that transport them back to the time of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

Students will wear the regular day uniform.

A Look Inside

Hearts and Arts are Thriving at OLMC

The Fifth Grade’s outdoor recitation of Paul Revere’s Ride by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow roused imaginations to contemplate the moonlit night Paul Revere rode through the countryside on his daring mission.

In art class, Grades 2 through 5 rendered copies of Vincent Van Gogh’s “Bedroom in Arles.” By using a step-by-step process and layering shapes students were able to create beautiful portrayals of this Post-Impressionist masterpiece.

OLMC Families prove once again that they cannot be outdone in generosity. Look at this generous collection we have for our “Birthday Bag” donation to Boonton Food Pantry. Thank you!

Dental Care Available



Give Kids A Smile, a program offering free dental care to children ages 12 and younger who may not have the means to afford a preventative dental visit, is available this February. Every February dentists throughout NJ offer free dental care for (children 12 and under) who cannot afford dental care. In 2021, Give Kids A Smile Day is going to be Give Kids A Smile MONTH! Nearly 100 participating dental offices throughout the state are available for parents to schedule an appointment at a convenient location.
