The decision to move Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Boonton to a Classical Catholic curriculum has drawn the attention and support of The Chiaroscuro Foundation. Chiaroscuro (kee-ahr- uh-skoor- oh), an artistic technique characterized by strong contrasts between light and dark, describes the foundation’s aspiration to reflect God’s light in an often dark world. Our Lady of Mount Carmel School received a $10,000 donation from The Chiaroscuro Foundation. The Foundation is keen on cultural projects that have lasting impact in the effort to make society more humane. Their financial support towards Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is an endorsement of the new classical approach adopted by the school this academic year.

Led by a lean staff of successful scholars, businessmen, and entrepreneurs committed to the fundamental values of life, liberty, and justice, Chiaroscuro wants to enliven civil society from the roots. They support efforts to emphasize parents’ primary responsibility for their children’s education.

Mr. Minson commented, "We are honored that an organization that celebrates educational excellence has identified Our Lady of Mount Carmel as a worthy investment. We will honor that trust every day by preparing our students with the very best of our Catholic academic tradition."
